Combining historic architecture with modern buildings, this pedestrianized retail district is known for its upscale apartments, condos and lofts.

Sitting one block South of Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street was the first pedestrian shopping mall in Canada. Today it continues to be a traffic-free haven for shoppers, and is home to the Spark Street Mall, which boasts an array of fashion stores, cafes and restaurants. Sparks Street also plays host to a number of festivals throughout the year, such as the Ottawa Busker Festival and Latin Sparks Festival.
