A designated culture capital of Canada

Coquitlam is a suburban city located within the Tri-Cities of the Lower Mainland. Home to mainly families as well as a younger community of middle-class dwellers: single detached housing makes up the larger percentage of this area. New apartment and townhouse developments are quickly developing in the area as well. It is a popular destination for festivals and events with over 100 events occurring each year. Coquitlam has several high-quality community and aquatic centers and sports arenas and is also home to Douglas College and Coquitlam Town Centre Mall.
