Far-flung suburbs full of farms, ferries, and farmers markets

Delta is located south of Richmond, bordered by the Fraser River to the north and the city of Surrey to the east. Due to its vast flat, fertile lands, Delta is an important agricultural area in Greater Vancouver, with much of its land under regulations to prevent suburban housing developments. North Delta claims over half of Delta’s population and is home to a large amount of green spaces. Tsawwassen is found on a peninsula in the southwestern corner of Delta and serves as the only road access to Point Roberts (an American city). The Tsawwassen BC Ferry Terminal provides access to Vancouver Island and Gulf Island and is the largest ferry terminal in North America.
