Delta is located south of Richmond, bordered by the Fraser River to the north and the city of Surrey to the east.
Due to its vast flat, fertile lands, Delta is an important agricultural area in Greater Vancouver, with much of its land under regulations to prevent suburban housing developments. North Delta claims over half of Delta’s population, and is home to a large amount of green spaces. Tsawwassen is a residential community located on a peninsula in the southwestern corner of Delta and serves as the only road access to Point Roberts. The Tsawwassen BC Ferry Terminal provides access to Vancouver Island and Gulf Island, and is the largest ferry terminal in North America.
